Alpoco operates atomisation plants in Anglesey (North Wales) and Minworth (Birmingham) and has a 51% share in the atomising plant Benda-Lutz Alpoco in Skawina (Poland).
Each site has specialist equipment to manufacture the range of products which we can offer.
Anglesey – North Wales
This site has lines dedicated to the production of air or inert gas atomised aluminium powders in bulk quantities. These powders can be split into desired fractions for specific customer requirements by gas classification and/or mesh screening. Recent addition of tonnage scale blending equipment has meant that precise particle size distribution requirements can be achieved as required by our customers.
Products can be supplied in a range of packaging alternatives, from 25kg bags or drums to 1tonne or more bulk bags, re-usable containers and tankers. Special packaging for specific customer requirements can also be supplied.
Minworth – Birmingham
This site produces a range of coarser aluminium powder products and aluminium needles by centrifugal atomisation and granulation with screening facilities to achieve desired particle size ranges from 100µm to 1mm in size. Typically supplied in 25kg or 1tonne bulk bags, but available in 25 to 250kg drums or other weights as required.
Also on this site is a gas atomiser for production of special alloy powders with the capability of making kg to tonnage quantities of fine alloy powders and processing via gas classification and screening / blending.
Skawina – Poland
During 1999 Alpoco acquired a majority share in the Polish aluminium atomising plant Benda Lutz Alpoco. This plant has a capacity of 6,000 tonnes per annum of 99.7% purity powder. Enquiries for this plant should be made through the Alpoco commercial function at Minworth.
